Star Fruit

The "Dense Branch Starfruit" from Nanxi District, Tainan City is famous abroad. Each fruit is full and plump, and is well-known far and wide. The fruit is large, bright yellow and translucent green, and shines like stars in the sun. The ribs are thick and heavy, and the skin is yellowish when mature. The sugar content is above 8oBrix, the acidity is below 0.20%, the sugar-acid ratio is high, the flesh is fine, the number of seeds is small, and the flavor is good.

 The fruit picking season starts from July and ends in March of the following year, with a production period of 9 months. The fruit development days for summer fruits are 75 days after flowering, and for winter fruits are 110 days after flowering. Harvesting begins after the fruit skin turns limp and yellow.

 The fruit setting rate is high, and the average yield per plant in the fourth year after high grafting is 200 Kg/plant.
